My Beach My Water

Until further notice lifeguards at Maracas and Tyrico Bays will be on the beach from 10am to 12pm. This is to facilitate ongoing infrastructural works to the Lifeguard facilities on these beaches.

It’s likely the average beach goer would mistake the Portuguese man-of-war for a jellyfish. Not only is it not a jellyfish, it's not even an "it," but a "they." The Portuguese man-of-war is a siphonophore, an animal made up of a colony of organisms working together. So if you spot it or something loooking like a jellyfish be very careful as man-of-war are poisonous and use our icon to let others know where you’ve spotted the man-of- war/ man-o-war so they can also exercise precaution!
