  • Wear masks in public settings where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Certain stores and vendors may require a mask when you are being served.
  • Don't wear a mask in the water. Wet masks can obstruct breathing.
  • Be careful when using public facilities. Ensure that public facilities are properly sanitised before you use them.
  • Bring your own disinfectant sprays or wipes and sanitise surfaces like lawn chairs and beach toys.

  • Keep the beach and water clean. Avoid single use plastics and don't litter on the beach. Items like broken bottles can lead to injury on the beach if they are not disposed of properly.
  • Obey posted flags and signs. These point out potential dangers in tthe water.
  • Obey the instructions of the lifeguards on duty. User caution going into the water when lifeguards are not on duty.
  • Swin with a buddy in your own social group.
  • Learn to identify rip currents and avoid them. If you are caught in arip current, learn how to manage it.
